Kansas City Area Transportation Authority
KCATA's Metro bus system primarily serves Jackson County and parts of Clay and Wyandotte counties in Missouri. Senior adults ride at half fare with a Medicare card. Bus fare on Ozone Alert! days is 50¢. Bus schedules and trip planner available online. Call 816-221-0660.
Johnson County Transit's The JO bus system operates within Johnson County, Kan., and points in Kansas City, Mo., and Kansas City, Kan. A new route called the K-10 Connector now connects the University of Kansas in Lawrence with Johnson County Community College and the KU-Edwards Campus in Overland Park. Unified Government Transit offers The Bus fixed-route transit service for Wyandotte County, Kan., with connections to The Metro and The JO. It also provides Dial-A-Ride for persons with disabilities, Senior Group Transportation and Aging Transit, which includes Meals on Wheels, Demand Response Medical Trips and Grocery Shopping. Lawrence Transit provides transit service in Lawrence, Kan., averaging 1,600 trips per day. In coordination with Johnson County Transit, the K-10 Connector route now connects the University of Kansas in Lawrence with Johnson County Community College and the KU-Edwards Campus in Overland Park. CARPOOLING & VANPOOLING
Mid-America Regional Council's RideShare program informs people about less expensive and environmentally friendly commuting alternatives such as include carpooling, vanpooling, bicycling, transit programs, and various employer services. Register online or call 816-842-RIDE to search for other carpoolers to commute with. RideShare also offers a Guaranteed Ride Home program to carpoolers, vanpoolers, bicyclists and Johnson County Transit riders who commute to work using one of those methods on a regular basis. RideShare also offers a park-and-ride mapping tool with a direct link to Google Transit's trip planner.
The AdVANtage Vanpool program is operated by the Kansas City Area Transportation Authority. The AdVANtage Program provides FREE eight-passenger and 12-passenger vans for commuting.

The JO - Special Edition & EasyRide

Share-a-Fare
Share-a-Fare serves people who need door-to-door transportation because a disability prevents them from driving a car on their own, or prevents them from using bus service. The service provides Complementary Paratransit Trips as required by the Americans with Disabilities Act throughout The Metro bus service area, as well as some other transportation services for eligible persons in Kansas City, Missouri.
